Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has met with Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero.

Montella was spotted dining with Ferrero last week.

"I've known him for a while now and we do sometimes meet for dinner, as we have mutual friends," declared Montella.

"I always told the club that. It was not a professional meeting, more of a casual one."
