Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino admits tonight's opponents Roma beat them for two big transfer targets over the summer.

He revealed: "We tried to get Ludovic Giuly (Barcelona) and Juan (Bayer Leverkusen). But Roma were more shrewd and the offers they made were outside out budget."

Corvino added: "We'd love to sign Alberto Aquilani. He's someone who appeals a lot to us. As does Daniele De Rossi and Amantino Mancini."
