Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino rates former AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino as the best signing of his career.
"Gilardino was the best piece of business I have ever made in my career," the Gigliati director told Calcio 2000. "Alberto was ready to come here and he even took a pay cut in order to play for us.
"He had problems at Milan but we managed to get in there thanks to some heavy investment from the club's owners.
"We signed one of the most prolific strikers around and you can see that by the way he is playing.
"I'm happy with the way everything has gone for us in terms of our achievements on the pitch and our activities in the transfer market."
