Fiorentina chief Corvino explains Bojinov sale

Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino has explained why they're putting Valeri Bojinov up for sale.

"Every club must defend itself and we have two young players, Giampaolo Pazzini and Bojinov, whose contracts expire in 2009," said Corvino.

"We believe in them and will take a risk for them, but there must also be guarantees. Pazzini is open to a new contract and wants to stay, but Bojinov did not welcome this idea.

"Despite it all, we decided to confirm his current contract, but he did not accept it, so Fiorentina have put him on the market."

It's believed the former Lecce starlet requested a wage increase despite causing endless problems since he first joined the club.

"We expected a different attitude," added Corvino. "Bojinov is for sale and will continue to train with us, but only those players who have married the Fiorentina project will get precedence.

"We are waiting for offers. I have many ideas for the attack. Lately I had another thought - I will tell the Coach…"
