Fiorentina chief Pantaleo Corvino admits their winter pursuit of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is over.

"Ivanovic? He was our goal, but Chelsea have taken him off the market because of the injury to (Ricardo) Carvalho," confessed Corvino. "We have a team already strong and tested, so if we must invest we will do so in players who can help us make a jump in quality.

"Ivanovic is one of them, but, I repeat, Chelsea have taken him off the market."
