Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was delighted for Mario Gomez after their Coppa Italia win over AS Roma.
Gomez struck both goals in the 2-0 win for the Viola.
Montella said: "We expect this from Gomez, as we know he's lethal inside the box. He doesn't always have to participate in the build-up, as he is fundamental in the penalty area. Mario needed confidence and has now totally burst through that block.
"Diamanti has real character, even if he is different to Cuadrado. He has immense talent and we have to make the most of it."
