Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic says there's no way back for Adrian Mutu.
Mutu is facing legal action from Fiorentina after abandoning training this week.
The Viola had to play out their 1-1 draw at Bologna just 24 hours after Mutu stormed out of training after a transfer dispute.
"Mutu was going to play today. I always defended him, but now I really can't. His behaviour is indefensible," said Mihajlovic.
"He disrespected everyone - the club, his teammates and me - and respect is crucial in all areas of life, not just football. He put himself out of the team after we had always stood up for him.
"When he found out the club didn't want to release him from his contract to join Cesena free of charge, he got changed and walked out. In technical terms Fiorentina are losing an important player.
"We don't necessarily need to sign anyone new, as we saw today how well Khouma Babacar did. We must put faith in those who are giving everything for the Viola jersey."
