Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo says the match officials should be embarrassed after last night's Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich secured their 2-1 win in the final minute thanks to a goal that was at least four to six yards offside.

"The game was the performance we needed to. It's a shame to see these embarrassing things in the final 16 of the Champions League," blasted Montolivo.

"I saw the offside from the bench, so I don't know what the linesman was looking at."

The referee Tom Ovrebo and his officials also caused immense controversy in the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier with France.

Montolivo added: "To be robbed like this is frustrating. We played a great game and aimed to keep everything in the balance going to Florence, which we had done. It's a shame.

"It's such a disappointment to see such a clear offside not flagged. It's the worst feeling in the world to lose a game when it wasn't your fault."
