SC Heerenveen blocked striker Alfred Finnbogason from joining Fulham last week.
Heerenveen chief Hans Vonk held clear-the-air talks with the Finn after he branded the club "amateurish" for upping their price during talks with Fulham.
"Alfred is an extremely intelligent boy. I explained to him that we acted purely out of importance for Heerenveen, given the time frame and any other considerations that we had to make," said Vonk.
Finnbogason struck his 20th goal of the season against ADO Den Haag on the weekend.
