Steve Finnan was delighted to make his playing return for Portsmouth in Saturday's win at Wolves.
The former Liverpool and Espanyol fullback told The News: "It's been a long time. I've done a lot of training and a lot of hard work to get back and it's taken a bit of time. It's just nice to be back playing again.
"It's been very frustrating. Any player will tell you he doesn't like being injured, especially if the team is losing. You just want to be back playing. It's just horrible watching games and not being part of it.
"I've had a couple of reserves games in the build-up but to play in the first-team is totally different. It's what I've been waiting all this time for.
"It feels great and it's especially nice to come back into a winning team. I feel we probably deserve a few more points. We did really well against Wolves but I feel that result had been coming.
"It's great to be part of things again, now hopefully I can stay fit and stay in the team."
