French finance experts say there's no comparison between Manchester United's world record deal for Paul Pogba and the money Real Madrid splashed out on Zinedine Zidane.
United paid a record €120 million to Juventus for Pogba, while Real Madrid paid €77.5 million to the Bianconeri for Zizou back in 2001.
Economics professor Pierre Rondeau explained to football365: "The 120 million for Pogba represents only 23% of the club's budget.
"Zidane when he signed for Real in 2001, it was 54% of the budget of Madrid.
"Then, it was COLOSSAL. Here it is a fair economic return, they are so rich that they can splash out."
