In what could be described as a breakout year for New Zealand football, the successful season is about to be capped off with the annual awards night.
This Friday in Auckland, the New Zealand Football Awards will take place to reward individual performances and service to football in the island nation.
Eight categories have seen a stellar bunch of names pulled together to find the winners who have been at the top of their game in their chosen field throughout season 2009/10.
The winners of the eight major awards are decided by votes from a panel comprising national team and national league coaches, former internationals, administrators and football media.
