The only goal of the contest came just after the hour-mark when Spanish striker Fernando Torres linked up well with Dutchman Dirk Kuyt down the left flank before shifting and shooting past Baggies keeper Scott Carson to give Liverpool the lead.
The visitors tried valiantly to get back into proceedings but it was made tough when James Morrison was shown a red card for his lunge at Torres with four minutes remaining.

still early stages and a win is a win but i dont see anything different from hodgsons approach to the game to benitez's. We dont have any quality to break down opponents, especially against the weaker ones. All i can say is lucky we have torres. Why on earth did we have only 1 striker against a team who lost 6nil to chelshit. Too defensive especially at home! We play like shit! I dont see any improvement in the formation and game play under hodgson. I just hope the new midfielder is creative and that we get a good striker. We need to play alot better if we want a top 4 spot.
must drop or sell lucas, he's got no pace,skill or brains for the epl.
Well, Liverpool won, but hardly, I might add.
If they won´t buy anyone in next two days, this club might be in deep troubles by January.
