Birmingham City have come from behind to defeat Blackburn Rovers at St Andrews.
A Craig Gardner double did the damage for the Blues who hit back twice after Steven N'Zonzi opened the scoring but Blackburn would have been ruing the fact that Morten Gamst Pedersen missed a penalty five minutes after half-time.
Birmingham City: 2 (Craig Gardner 57', 71') Blackburn Rovers: 1 (Steven N'Zonzi 54')
Venue: St Andrews Crowd: 21,394 Referee: Michael Oliver Yellow cards:BC - Nikola Zigic 50', Sebastian Larsson 90' BR - Steven N'Zonzi 68', Mame Biram Diouf 79', Ryan Nelsen 84'
The visitors should have hit the lead in the 50th minute when debutant referee Michael Oliver awarded a penalty but Pedersen's spot kick was brilliantly saved by Ben Foster.
However, the Rovers did take the lead four minutes later when N'Zonzi glanced a header into the back of the net but it only lasted three minutes. Gardner finished with a simple tap-in to make it 1-1 and then fired home in the 71st minute to give his side maximum points.
