Atletico de Kolkata have made all the early running in the 2014 Hero Indian Super League by notching their second win of the inaugural season.
Antonio Lopez Habas' side added to their opening day victory by defeating NorthEast United FC 2-0 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati thanks to a second tournament goal from Fikru Teferra Lemessa.
The Ethiopian striker gave Atletico the lead in the 15th minute when he brilliantly controlled a chipped pass from marquee player Luis Garcia on his chest before firing home.
It saw Lemessa take the outright lead in the ISL scoring chart after his opener in the 3-0 win over ???? in the very first match of the season.
Atletico controlled proceedings throughout but it almost came undone when star Spaniard Borja Fernandez was sent off for a second yellow card in the 84th minute.
However, the visitors eventually got their reward with a second goal in injury-time when Czech Republic midfielder Jakub Podany wrapped it up for the West Bengal outfit.
The Sourav Ganguly-owned Kolkata side now sit at the top of the ISL standings with six points from two matches while Ricki Herbert's NorthEast are third on three points after their 1-0 win over Kerala Blasters on Monday.
