Inter Milan midfielder Luis Figo has no regrets over not playing for boyhood idols Liverpool.

"There is no sadness [that I never played in England]," he stated in O Jogo. "People confuse dreams a little. If a dream is something unfulfilled then it's not so good.

"I grew up watching the European Cup and seeing Liverpool. It is normal to see these games and feel happy to follow such spectacles.

"It is what happened for me.

"Meanwhile, my life took another course.

"I had one or another chance but it failed to materialise.

"I am extremely happy with my career."
