Luis Figo is backing Inter Milan's bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Maniche.

Figo said of his former Portugal teammate: "Maniche is a player that I know and who has some very important features. He is the type of footballer that every team would like to have because he is useful to the squad and has great individual quality.

"I have never had any problems with him in the national team. He had a tough experience in Russia where he fought to adapt, but that does not mean he is a controversial player."
