The Italian Football Federation say they haven't made a decision over the future of Italy coach Cesare Prandelli.
Prandelli is expected to leave once his contract expires after Brazil 2014.
"It is normal in the world of football that we are hearing names," FIGC President Giancarlo Abete told Sky Sport Italia.
"However, this is just public opinion and news stories, it has nothing to do with us as a Federation.
"We have a commitment to meet with Coach Prandelli to verify the plans for the future and we hope he remains.
"If he opts to leave then we will make a different choice, but, as it stands, we have not spoken to any other people."
