FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio has defended the make-up of the Italy squad.
Sampdoria striker Eder and Palermo's Franco Vazquez are both in the latest Azzurri squad.
"Anyone with Italian citizenship can play for the national team," Tavecchio declared.
"The matter is closed. With an oriundo [Mauro Camoranesi] we won the 2006 World Cup, and Conte has absolute freedom to identify who can play."
