FIGC president Giancarlo Abete doesn't believe there's an anti-Italian conspiracy in Europe after Fiorentina's defeat at Bayern Munich.
Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo harshly sent off Massimo Gobbi and then allowed Miroslav Klose's match-winning goal to stand even though it was clearly three yards offside.
Abete rang UEFA President Michel Platini yesterday to express his concern at Fiorentina's treatment.
"I am not at all worried with how Italy is treated in Europe as the problem doesn't exist at all," Abete explained.
"We saw evidence of this in the games between Panathinaikos and Roma, as well as Ajax-Juventus. There is no problem in terms of a lack of political power.
"But I do reiterate that the refereeing in the match between Bayern and Fiorentina was not up to standard. But it is not because of a problem between Italy and Europe."
