FICG deputy commissioner Alessandro Costacurta says Luigi di Biagio could stay in charge of Italy beyond this week's friendlies.
The former Inter Milan midfielder is currently interim coach as FIGC seeks a new Azzurri appointment.
Costacurta told Rai Sport: "He is a coach who knows all the guys who are with the national team right now, he's worked very well and I think he has the quality to lead the national team, we have a very good group of coaches. There's names but we all know them.
"As I repeated, I think we will have to finish the season and in May I believe that at least we will have to offer a name."
