FIGC chief Albertini says door open to Inter Milan firebrand Balotelli, Cassano

FICG vice-president Demetrio Albertini says World Cup outcasts Mario Balotelli and Antonio Cassano will be handed a new chance.

FICG vice-president Demetrio Albertini says World Cup outcasts Mario Balotelli and Antonio Cassano will be handed a new chance.

Inter Milan striker Balotelli and Sampdoria's Cassano were both shunned by Marcello Lippi for Italy's World Cup campaign.

“I think that in the future Cassano and Balotelli will be taken into consideration for the Nazionale,” Albertini told Sky Italia television.

“As well as being great players, this year they have had problems with their respective Coaches and teammates.

“Of course Prandelli will, as with every Coach, be given full freedom to make his own decisions.”
