FIFA sanction could prevent Man Utd, Chelsea tours of Thailand

Thailand fourth division club Pattaya FC are in danger of being responsible for cancelling Thai friendlies with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Thailand fourth division club Pattaya FC are in danger of being responsible for cancelling Thai friendlies with Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Daily Mail reports that the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) is at risk of being suspended from international competition after Pattaya successfully won an injunction against a FAT vote taking place to amend rules in line with FIFA requirements.

This could mean that July friendlies for a Singha All-Stars XI with the aforementioned Premier League giants in Bangkok may not go ahead.

"I don't want to speculate on the consequences of a possible sanction but FIFA stated the suspension would prevent us from having international contact,” FIFA committee member and outgoing Thai FA president Worawi Makudi told The Nation.

“I assume it includes everything.”

The Singha All-Stars meets United on July 13 in David Moyes’ first game in charge before they host Chelsea under returning boss Jose Mourinho four days later.
