FIFA are set to intervene in the dispute between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sporting Lisbon regarding Rui Patricio.
The Portuguese international terminated his contract with Sporting after the players were attacked at the training ground by a group of "ultra" supporters.
Patricio is facing legal action from Sporting, who do not believe their players have a legal right to terminate their deals.
Since he signed a four-year deal with Wolves, Sporting are asking the English club for €58.7 million.
"We can confirm that we have received a complaint from Sporting Clube de Portugal against Wolverhampton Wanderers and the player [Patricio]," a FIFA spokesperson told Omnisport.
"As the contractual dispute is currently under investigation, please understand that no further comment can be made at this stage."
