FIFA continue to leave Fulham, Cousin hanging

FIFA insist they are no nearer to resolving the situation involving Daniel Cousin's projected move from Rangers to Fulham.

The Gabon striker had hoped to complete a move to the Barclays Premier League side last month, but the deal was put on hold due to the fact Cousin has already played for two clubs this season.

Appearing for a third club would contravene FIFA regulations, however Rangers and Fulham are hoping world football's governing body will consider the merits of Cousin's case.

The 31-year-old only briefly appeared for French club Lens at the start of the campaign before joining Rangers, however the £3million move to Fulham remains on hold.

Rangers boss Walter Smith called at the weekend for FIFA to deliver a final ruling and end the suspense, but a decision may not arrive this week.

"The matter is still pending," said a FIFA spokesman. "There is no time frame yet."
