FFF president Noel Le Graet has confirmed Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema will be excluded from France's Euros squad.
The decision was made on Wednesday, following a sex-tape scandal involving Mathieu Valbuena and the Real Madrid frontman, as well as money laundering accusations.
"We feel a great harmony, on the pitch the players behaved so well that we have estimated that we cannot run the risk of endangering this momentum," Le Graet told L'Equipe.
The FFF president wants to put that harmony above any individual player, though denied that the case was over alleged laundering of drug money.
"Valbuena and Benzema did something silly - the sex tape - but their decision had nothing to do with the alleged laundering of drug money.
"The decision [to exclude Benzema] was difficult but it was for the general interest of the team.
"It doesn't matter if Benzema is doing well or not, as the collective that will not succeed with individuals."
