FFA embraces video assistant referee plus McDonald's

Fast food chain McDonald's has signed a partnership with Football Federation Australia (FFA), for the 2017/18 season, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The deal sees the hamburger company become the official partner of Australia's top-tier A League, and the competition's video assistant referee (VAR) system.

Having been successfully trialed last season, VAR will become a regular part of the 2017/18 season, which kicks off on 6th October. The system will be used by referees to provide assistance on goal, penalty, red card, and mistaken identity decisions.
