Football Federation Australia are downplaying the proposed move of Michael Ballack to Western Sydney Wanderers.
The former Chelsea, Bayern Munich and German international midfielder has been heavily linked with the new A-League franchise but a FFA spokesman has played it cool when quizzed about the competition's newest club signing a marquee player.
"FFA and A-League clubs talk to lots of player agents about lots of different players," the spokesman told au.fourfourtwo.com.
"We don't provide a running commentary on these talks and we won't offer confirmations or denials every time a rumour surfaces."
However, it is believed that talks between the A-League and Ballack are ongoing with the possibility of a move still a chance.
