FFA approach Galatasaray manager Rijkaard

Football Federation Australia has reportedly approached current Galatasaray boss Frank Rijkaard.

The federation are seeking a replacement for Pim Verbeek for after the World Cup and it is believed they have targeted the Dutch legend who is in charge of Socceroos stars Harry Kewell and Lucas Neill in Turkey.

Although the search for a new head coach is in its infancy, Rijkaard's name has emerged as the strongest candidate although he was reportedly remaining cautious to the approach.

47-year old Rijkaard enjoyed a stellar playing career Ajax and AC Milan as well as with the Dutch national team and since retiring has managed the Oranje as well as Sparta Rotterdam and Barcelona before he took the helm at Galatasaray in June last year.
