FFA agree digital partnership

The MKTG agency has secured an agreement with Football Federation Australia to commercialise the governing body's FFA Digital Network, including the My Football Live App, reports SportBusiness.

Under the five-year deal, MKTG, which is operated by the Dentsu Aegis Network, will also lead the "commercial strategy and operations" for the network as part of the FFA Media Powered by MKTG partnership.

The deal was confirmed after telco Telstra acquired FFA mobile rights in a five-year deal, from 2018 to 2022, through a sub-licensing agreement with pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports earlier this week.

Telstra will host the My Football Live App, which will allow subscribers to watch live coverage of the men's A-League, women's A-League, FFA Cup and FFA-controlled national team matches.

MKTG has worked with the FFA on managing stadium signage for the past four years.

Matt Connell, MKTG's national managing director, said: "Complementing our long-term position in stadium rights management, FFA Media Powered by MKTG will extend our offer to include digital media rights and all the elements within."
