Chelsea have failed to land Feyenoord attacking midfielder Jonathan De Guzman.

De Guzman, an attacking midfielder who is Canadian born but with a Dutch passport, said: "Chelsea's interest was a massive surprise to me but they would have wanted to put me out on loan. I can't understand that.

"It seems more like a business - you never really know whether they want you or not."
