Feyenoord youth chief frustrated losing Tahith Chong to Man Utd

Feyenoord youth coach Damien Hertog is frustrated seeing Tahith Chong leaving for Manchester United.

Chong is expected to formally sign for United at the end of the season.

Hertog told De Telegraaf: "The problem is that they leave too early.

"Ultimately, it's all about giving opportunities to young players to get into the first team. We think their options in the Netherlands are greater than for example in the big English clubs."

He added: "No one wants to miss out on the new Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. The clubs there are so fearful that they take away the greatest talents in the world. And UEFA and FIFA can not help us. It is beyond their jurisdiction.

"It is normal that players from the Netherlands go to the Premier League, but we ask ourselves: is it good for these young players?"
