Manchester United's Jose Mourinho praised Feyenoord for showing plenty of character throughout Thursday night's clash.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side got the better of Mourinho's United with a 1-0 triumph at De Kuip in their opening Europa League group match hanks to Tonny Vilhena's late winner.
Mourinho said of the Dutch side: "Feyenoord defended with everything, a great crowd, a great spirit we know that.
"We know that in the Europa League everyone wants to play Man United, everyone wants to fight until their limits, which they did.
"They had the luck to score in the last part of the game."
United will look ahead to their next Group A fixture against Ukrainian outfit Zorya at Old Trafford on September 29 as Feyenoord get set to travel to Turkey to meet Fenerbahce.
