Feyenoord general manager Jan De Jong insists there's no regrets rejecting Newcastle United's offer for Nicolai Jorgensen.
De Jong insists even if they sell Jorgensen in the summer for less than the €17 million Newcastle bid in January, they will not regret their decision to keep him at De Kuip until the end of the season.
Feyenoord are in the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup and they wanted to keep as strong a team as possible as they fight for domestic honours this season.
De Jong told the Algemeen Dagblad: “We wanted to keep as strong a team as possible and Jorgensen is part of that.
“We do not regret having kept him at De Kuip, otherwise we would have let him go.
“We did not have to sell him, he just stays with Feyenoord, and it is not true that a bid of less than €17m means that we would have done wrong.
“He is still important to us now, for example in the quarter final of the cup against PSV."
