With the winter transfer window opening in just a matter of days it seems that Andre Ooijer will not be moving back to the Netherlands after all - not for Feyenoord's sake anyway.

The 33-year-old international defender has been a Bert Van Marwijk transfer target for some time now, but the 55-year-old boss admitted himself the move will not go ahead, as Blackburn Rovers would not release him.

"Ooijer is focused on his current club, but was also positive towards joining us. That is not feasible at the moment," Van Marwijk told De Telegraaf .

The former Roda and PSV Eindhoven man moved to England on August 23, 2006 in a deal reportedly worth three million euros. His contract runs until June 30, while the Rovers have an option of extending it for another year.
