Feyenoord chief Martin Van Geel admits they attempted to sign Bojan Krkic before his move to AC Milan.

Bojan, on-loan from Barcelona, moved from AS Roma to Milan last month.

Van Geel told Voetbal International: "Ronald Koeman had called the father of Bojan to propose to help the boy to recover, urging him to come to us.

"Negotiation was well underway, we had a number of constructive discussions, but in the end Milan beat us."
