Feyenoord are chasing a deal for Watford defender Daryl Janmaat.

AD says Feyenoord chief Martin van Geel sees Janmaat as a replacement for Kevin Diks, who is returning to parent club Fiorentina for the new season.

Janmaat hasn't made it a secret of a wish to play again for Feyenoord and after four years in England is now open to an Eredivisie return.

Van Geel is keen to make the deal happen, though must sell to fund Janmaat's signing.

While he is tied to Watford until 2020, Janmaat recognises he has little chance of regular first team football next season following the recent addition of fullbacks Marc Navarro (Espanyol) and Adam Masina (Bologna).
