2010 MLS MVP David Ferreira has signed a permanent deal with FC Dallas in a major boost for the Texan club. The 31-year old Colombian midfielder was on loan from Brazilian outfit Atletico Paranaense for the 2009 and 2010 MLS seasons but has now joined Dallas on a multi-year deal.
"I'm extremely pleased to have David Ferreira back with FC Dallas," FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman said in a statement. "Everyone knows how important he is to FC Dallas' success. What fans may not know is that he is truly a wonderful person, who leads by example. David's leadership and remarkable play will help FC Dallas continue to compete for an MLS Cup."
Ferreira added his delight to remain with the MLS Cup runners-up: "I've always said that I felt great with this team. I felt like I was at home. The support of the coaching staff was very important in the confidence it gave me when I was on the field. That's why I wanted to remain with the team."
