Manchester City have received a massive injury boost as midfielder Fernandinho has been declared fit to feature in the crucial Manchester derby on Thursday.

The Brazilian midfielder went off injured in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, but manager Pep Guardiola expects to have him back for the crunch clash with Man United at the Etihad Stadium.

As things stand, City hold a single-point lead over their cross-town rivals and the influence of Fernandinho could prove vital for Guardiola's side.
