Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has revealed that City's desire to keep the ball for 90 minutes is the reason behind their impressive start to the season.
Fernandinho says that manager Manuel Pellegrini wants and encourages the team to play possession football.
"Our team has one style of play – we aim to keep possession and play for 90 minutes with the ball," said the Brazilian.
"It is impossible to do it for the whole game, but when you have the ball for most of the game, and have players like Samir Nasri, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Raheem Sterling, they keep the ball so well. These players are doing exactly what the manager wants."
The Sky Blues currently top the Premier League table with a perfect record of four wins from four matches, having scored 10 goals and conceded none.
