Fernandinho has welcomed Manchester City's move for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony. Fernandinho admitted it will be a relief to see him turning out for Manuel Pellegrini's side instead of the opposition.

"Yes, he has scored a few against us," said Fernandinho. "He's a great player.

"He's scored a lot of goals while he's been in England and this season. And also against Manchester City - so to have him playing for us will be great.

"The manager and the people who work with him know very well what we need.

"We have a great squad, good players, but if they think we need to sign another striker - then that's what they'll do.

"Hopefully it will strengthen our squad for the rest of the season and it will help us to win trophies."
