Fernandes delays full buy-out of QPR

Tony Fernandes has already agreed to buy a 20 percent stake in Premiership new-boys QPR, but does not intend to take over entirely until the end of the season at the earliest, reports the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle. In exchange for the shares, the airline mogul and Lotus Formula I chief is however ready to sink £15million into the club - sold him by Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore.

The pair currently control around 67 percent, with the final 20-odd percent owned by billionaire Lakshmi Mittal.

Boss Neil Warnock is looking forward to having a war chest for bringing in new faces.

"I met Tony in Italy, and he is a very nice chap.

"Myself, Flavio and Tony all had a positive chat after the match last Saturday.

"We've already spoken about possible targets and he is a very positive man."
