Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reluctant to compete in the Club World Championship with a full-strength squad.

Fergie's European champions will interrupt their Premier League campaign to travel to Japan for the event.

Ferguson said: "We have a good squad and I may keep some players back to make sure we have fitness and freshness for the League."
