Sir Alex Ferguson urged Manchester United to stand by David Moyes, it is claimed.
The Sunday Mail says Ferguson has assured Moyes he played no part in his sacking as Manchester United manager.
He also told Moyes that he urged chief executive Ed Woodward and the Glazer family to give his successor more time despite a poor first 10 months in charge.
