Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has jumped to the defence of Patrice Evra.
Evra is in hot water with French authorities after a scathing interview over the weekend.
Ferguson said at his book launch yesterday: "I think he was unlucky with this episode in South Africa. He was the captain and he thought he would represent the players in this conflict with the coach (Raymond) Domenech, but I've never had any problems with him.
"This is a great professional."
