Ferguson says Man Utd won't break bank to solve midfield dilemma

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson won't go crazy trying to find a midfield signings.

Since Roy Keane left in 2005 United fans have been desperately hoping for a new midfield general.

Last summer it was £40m Wesley Sneijder in their sights and this time it is Luka Modric, valued by Spurs at £35m.

But that's a no-go for Ferguson. "If the fans are waiting for a £35m signing then they can wait!" said the United boss.

"There is a borderline in terms of what you would think is a good signing for Manchester United."
