Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels justified with Michael Owen's signing after his derby winner on Sunday.

Ferguson, writing in his match programme notes for the Cup win over Wolves, said: "I told you right from the start that Michael Owen would be a winner for United and that's exactly what he was on Sunday.

"His goal completed some good work by the entire squad of late and sends us into this cup tie in excellent shape."
