Ferguson to remain patient on Man Utd's returning warrior Vidic

Sir Alex Ferguson was thrilled to have Nemanja Vidic back in his Manchester Unitred line-up on the weekend but is not getting too carried away.

The Red Devils skipper returned to action with around 20 minutes of game time in Saturday's 3-1 win over Sunderland after an absence of three months and Ferguson is keen to get some more fitness into him before he is a regular part of the starting line-up.

"It will take him a bit of time but that is a start," Ferguson said.

"He is a warrior and he is our captain. He always battles for you and sticks his head on that ball in the penalty area. That is what he is great at."
