Shane Ferguson has signed a new contract with Newcastle United.
The Evening Chronicle says Ferguson is understood to have signed a new three-year contract - staving off interest from German giants Hertha Berlin.
The 17-year-old has yet to figure for United's first team but has already made his full international debut for Northern Ireland, appearing as a late substitute in a friendly against Italy earlier this month.
Both Celtic and Rangers have tracked his progress through the Magpies' youth and reserve sides, while Bundesliga outfit Hertha are the latest to have run checks on Ferguson.
