Sir Alex Ferguson said the midfield duo of Michael Carrick and Anderson was the key to Manchester United's win over Wolfsburg on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils came from behind to defeat the reigning German Bundesliga champions 2-1 at Old Trafford and Ferguson gave credit to Carrick, who scored the winner, and Anderson for their important roles in central midfield.
"I think we had a very good team performance tonight in terms of our football," Ferguson said.
"I think Michael and Anderson in central midfield had particularly good games for us.
"It doesn't do him any harm in scoring a goal, but he really did enjoy himself tonight.
"We think that he's always slow to start the seasons since he's come to us and it's normally about October that he gets into his stride and we're seeing that."
